    We are celebrating my son's birthday with an Illuminations Cruise. Our dinner reservations are at the Garden Grill. What is the best way to get to the Bayside Marina at the Yacht Club from there? Thank youl

    Hi Pamela! You are set to embark on one of my favorite activities to do during our Walt Disney World vacations.   Illuminations is an outstanding show and we never miss it.  Seeing it via the private cruise will be an amazing and magical adventure for your son and for you.

    It is very easy to get to the Yacht Club marina from the Land Pavilion in Epcot. When you are done with dinner head towards Future World and take a right that will bring you past the Canadian Pavilion.  Continue on and walk through the United Kingdom area and you will then see a large walkway off to your right. Take this right and continue on through the exit of the International Gateway. Follow the walkway up the hill and follow this straight. There is a bridge off to the left that takes you to Boardwalk. You will pass the Beach Club Resort and the swimming area and you will see the marina on your left. You have arrived!

    As you can see this is a bit of a walk and I would definitely give yourself at least 20 minutes but that is walking at a good pace. Be sure and time it so you arrive early to check in for the cruise.  I also suggest you arrive early enough to head into the Yacht Club Resort to use the bathrooms there before the cruise as there will not be another chance until after Illuminations.  

    When the cruise is completed I suggest you walk through the Yacht Club Resort and have the valets call a taxi for you. It will be the easiest way to return back to your resort.

    If you want to order a special cake or treats for the cruise you can do that by calling private dining through the Yacht Club Resort. Chips and other snacks plus water and sodas are available with the cruise cost.  If you need a snack for later that night be sure and take some back to your resort room.
