We are celebrating my sons 5th birthday at Disney and was wondering if there are any birthday packages? We are not staying in any of the Disney resorts or hotels.

    Hiya Shaunte,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! As far as I’m concerned, Walt Disney World Resort is the best place to celebrate a birthday – my son, daughter, and I celebrated ours there last year, and we all had the BEST BIRTHDAYS EVER! I’m wishing your son a great big happy (early) birthday!

Whether you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel or off-property, there are lots of great ways to celebrate a birthday in The Most Magical Place on Earth. When you say “packages,” I wonder if you’re asking about special ticket pricing, and at this time, there aren’t any birthday deals. However, I do encourage you to take a look at the Special Offers web page, which highlights discounts and packages, and changes regularly.

There are some great ways to make your son’s 5th birthday absolutely magical, Shaunte! Here are a few ideas:

-Disney Floral & Gifts offer a variety of birthday gift baskets, and you may be able to arrange to have something delivered to a Walt Disney World Resort restaurant. I’m imagining a birthday meal with his favorite characters (maybe Pooh and pals at The Crystal Palace or Disney Junior friends at Hollywood & Vine?), and a special delivery just for him of a gift basket featuring a Mickey plush and some treats. Please take a look at their website or give a call to the Dream Makers (407) 939-4438. Those Dream Makers are amazing – they celebrated my dear friend, whose husband was away on a deployment with the Army, with a special gift, and we were all in tears. It made for such a special memory.

-Depending on where you’re staying, Disney Floral & Gifts also may deliver to addresses outside of the Walt Disney World Resort. You could check with them to see what possibilities there might be for a special birthday delivery.

-You can arrange for a special birthday cake delivery to a Walt Disney World restaurant. The Mickey Mouse celebration cake is ahhhh-mazing – so moist and delicious, and it’s become my go-to to send to friends who are having special vacations. The cake currently costs $35 (which is subject to change), feeds 4-6 Guests, and comes in chocolate or white chocolate. It even has adorable Mouse ears! You can order a cake in advance by calling (407) 939-3463 – you just need to add it to your dining reservation.

I hope these ideas provide a little birthday pixie dust for your sweet boy. Be sure to stop at Guest Relations to pick up a celebration button – your birthday boy can wear his for your whole trip and collect birthday wishes, and the rest of your family can wear one too to show you’re celebrating right along with him. I also love seeing families wearing matching birthday t-shirts when I’m at Walt Disney World – what a fun way to get the party started!

Wishing your son the most magical birthday celebration, and all of you a magical vacation,
