Hi there, Carrie! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Is there any better place for a birthday celebration than
Walt Disney World Resort? I'm sure you're going to have a blast ringing in your son's 21st birthday at The Most Magical Place on Earth! Be sure to stop by the front desk of your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel or any Guest Relations location to pick up a complimentary birthday button for your son. He'll love all the well wishes he'll receive from Cast Members and other Guests while wearing his button.
Certainly, one of the best places in Walt Disney World Resort to celebrate with a couple of cocktails is World Showcase in EPCOT. Inside World Showcase's Mexico pavilion, you'll find
La Cava del Tequila. This is your go-to spot if you have any margarita fans in your travel party. Over at
Les Vins des Chefs de France, you'll find the popular Grand Marnier orange slush. This drink is so refreshing on a hot summer day! If you'd like to enjoy a pint in a lively atmosphere, I recommend stopping by
Rose & Crown Pub at the United Kingdom pavilion.
World Showcase offers a wide range of unique drinks to enjoy, however, there is nothing I love better than relaxing at one of my favorite Walt Disney World lounges. If you're looking for a place to take a break and enjoy a cocktail while visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you can't beat the laid-back atmosphere and delicious menu options at
Nomad Lounge. If your son is a Star Wars fan, you'll definitely want to make a reservation for
Oga's Cantina at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This local watering hole found on the planet Batuu will have you feeling as if you stepped right into a Star Wars movie. Try my favorite Oga's Cantina drink, the Yub Nub!
While there are some amazing drinks found at the theme parks, don't overlook the resort hotel lounges! I love the subtle
Beauty and the Beast theming at
Enchanted Rose, found at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. However, my favorite place to celebrate with a cocktail is Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. At
Tambu Lounge, I recommend the Lapu Lapu. It's served inside a fresh pineapple, so it's not only a delicious drink but also a fun photo opportunity. For a lounge that is a whole experience in and of itself, you're going to want to visit
Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. This spot has limited space and is very popular, so I recommend arriving 60-90 minutes before opening time to put your name on the waitlist. Then you can spend some time exploring Disney's Polynesian Village Resort while you wait to be called. Outside at
Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace, you'll find the same menu, but you'll miss out on the "show" aspect of Trader Sam's Grog Grotto.
Carrie, I hope this information helps you plan a special 21st birthday celebration for your son. If you have any other questions, please visit planDisney again. Cheers!
Samantha
