We will be celebrating my son's 5th bday at WDW in Sept 2012. We're having breakfast the morning of his birthday at Chef Mickeys. Is there anything special they'll do for him to celebrate his big day? I dont want a cake per se since itll be breakfast!?

    Hi fellow South Carolinian Tracy!

Chef Mickey's is probably one of my family's top character restaurants. You get good food (buffet style) and of course a chance to meet your favorite characters Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto!

If you notify the host or hostess as you're being checked in, they'll generally set something up which may include small balloons or confetti at table, or perhaps a cupcake with candle at the end of your meal. This is all at their discretion, and I can't guarantee that they will do this, but this is generally their tendency to make your son's birthday that more memorable. Most of the Disney restaurants don't do things like have the staff sing Happy Birthday (although Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge have done this numerous times), so I should just note that.

Otherwise, I hope it turns out to be a terrific birthday for your little Mouseketeer. Have a good one!
