We will be celebrating my lil boy's 3rd birthday while on our FIRST disney trip. He LOVES Toy story. What can we do special for his birthday re: cake, characters, party, etc.... Thanks

    Hi Pamela,

Your son will be so excited to visit Walt Disney World for his third birthday!

Start by getting him a birthday button. These are available at Guest Relations at all of the theme parks. It will be magical to hear many cast members and guests wishing him a happy birthday. My daughter wore the birthday button on her birthday one year and was treated to a surprise cupcake at the end of our meal at the Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom Park! Although you should not expect these kind of extras, they are such a nice surprise if they do occur.

As for your son's love of Toy Story, that adds even more fun to his birthday! If he has a Toy Story costume, I would have him wear it that day. As your trip nears, check the character meet and greets for Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios on the My Disney Experience website. Currently you can meet Buzz Lightyear and Woody at Pixar Place in Hollywood Studios, and Toy Story Friends at Magic Kingdom. Having him meet characters from the movie on his birthday while he is in costume himself is sure to be priceless.

You can work with the Disney Cake Hotline at 407-827-2253 to have a cake made with Toy Story characters. They can customize a cake for your son and work with you to deliver it at the Walt Disney World resort. Go to the unofficial site and search for "cake hotline" for information on how to do this. Finally, visit Disney Floral and Gifts online or call them at 407-WDW-GIFT (407-939-4438). They can customize a surprise including balloons, stuffed animal, and treats for your son. I'm sure they have some great Toy Story things to include!

Have a great time celebrating, Pamela, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
