We will be celebrating my husband’s 60th birthday at Disney this year. I’ve booked 6 nights at the Grand Floridian Resort. I’d like to have a bottle of champagne delivered on his actual birthday. How do I go about arranging that please?

    Hiya, Lisa!

Welcome back to planDisney, and a very happy unbirthday to you! Of course, before you know it you'll be doing one of my very favorite things - celebrating the opposite of an unbirthday in The Most Magical Place on Earth - and how practically perfect that you've chosen the beautiful luxury of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to mark your husband's magical milestone!

Celebrating the people I love is one of my favorite pastimes, so I love that you're hoping to add a bit of pixie dust to the celebration. Happily, Walt Disney World Resort offers a wide variety of In-Room Floral & Gifts to help Guests celebrate life's magical moments. In perusing the website's list of celebratory offerings, I noticed that champagne was not included, so I reached out to a helpful Cast Member with your inquiry. She shared that while it is possible to have champagne delivered to the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel by calling the In-Room Floral & Gifts phone line, the order of an alcoholic beverage would require that the Guest present a valid photo ID to collect the delivery. Because of this, an in-room delivery is not possible.

I know this lacks the element of surprise you were hoping for, so I have a couple of suggestions for the celebration that will immerse the two of you in the grandeur of The Grand Floridian.
    • My husband and I have celebrated several anniversaries by enjoying the surf-and-turf at Narocoossee's. Its views of Seven Seas Lagoon are breathtaking no matter the time of day, but if you can time your reservation during Happily Ever After, the lights will dim, the music will play, and you can toast to your husband during Magic Kingdom's captivating fireworks display.
    • One of Walt Disney World Resort's most beautiful lounges, Enchanted Rose, can be found in the Grand Floridian's lobby paying homage to the Tale as Old as Time. With a menu featuring cocktails, mocktails, lounge bites, and yes, multiple champagne offerings, you'll want to sip and linger in one of its beautiful indoor or outdoor seating areas until the last petal falls.
    • If you would like an in-room toast, I suggest stopping by Enchanted Rose once you arrive and inquiring about the possibility of ordering a bottle of champagne from the bar to take back to your room.
Regardless of where you choose to celebrate at your Disney Resort hotel, be sure to pick up a birthday celebration button for your husband from the Front Desk. While my husband is always reluctant to wear one, in my opinion, the well-wishes from Cast Members and fellow Guests are one of the most magical aspects of a Walt Disney World Resort celebration.

I hope these suggestions are helpful as you plan your Prince Charming's celebration, Lisa! If you have any additional questions or are in need of more suggestions, feel free to stop back by. I'm always happy to help!
