Hello Nadia! A very heartfelt welcome to planDisney!
I have a feeling that by the end of this answer, we're going to be Disney friends because we have so much in common! We're both from Ohio, both grandparents, and both willing to do whatever it takes to make our little Mouseketeers' dreams come true!
I browsed the Walt Disney World website and discovered a
centralized page about how to order a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake (which is both delicious and adorable.) This page also discusses
Magical Floral & Gifts, including options for ordering balloon bouquets and gift baskets to be delivered to your room.
Now that we're Disney pals let's create a centralized area for birthday ideas right here in this answer! These ideas are ones I have used when celebrating with my granddaughters!
Since we've already discussed cakes and in-room gifts, I want to share how much my girls enjoy character dining. Meeting characters is special anywhere, but there's something particularly magical and personal about experiencing it during a meal. Before you head into your
character dining reservation, I recommend stopping by the front desk of your Resort hotel or visiting any merchandise location to ask for a complimentary "birthday button." Your grandson can wear this throughout the trip to let Cast Members know he's celebrating.
Now, you can enjoy character dining, where your grandson can party with his favorite Disney characters. Some of my granddaughter's favorites include
Chef Mickey's with the "Fab 5," Cape May Café for breakfast to dance with Donald and Goofy, The Crystal Palace to visit Winnie the Pooh, and
'Ohana to have fun with Stitch! Take a look at the list and choose the character dining option that your grandson would love—any of these choices would be a hit!
Nadia, there are SO MANY options available at Walt Disney World! Without knowing your grandson's specific interests, here are a few suggestions. If he's a Star Wars fan, be sure to check out the
Droid Depot. At The Most Magical Place on Earth, you can book
fishing excursions, take a
hot air balloon flight, enjoy a day of miniature golf, practice your archery skills, go for a horse-drawn carriage ride, and even attend a
fireworks dessert party. Birthday magic awaits around every corner at Walt Disney World, and you can personalize his experience as you wish. Be sure to explore the
Enchanting Extras Collection for even more ideas!
I hope this helps point you in the right direction to celebrate a special grandson! One of my favorite parts about being a panelist is being able to help other grandparents, so please let me know if you have any questions about any of these suggestions! I am wishing you magical memories to last a lifetime!
Your Disney pal,
Shonette
