Celebrating my 40th Feb 6th with my DS and his Grandmother. They are vegetarians. I would like some place special for my bday dinner but not too fancy since they eat pretty simple foods. Any ideas of where to eat dinner?

    April:

Keep in mind that any table service, non-buffet restaurant would be a fine choice to accommodate your son and his grandmother's vegetarian palate.  All you have to do is let the dining reservationist know that someone in your party is a vegetarian and, with a prompt to the hostess when you're seated, the chef will come out and talk to you!

But three restaurants come to mind when I think "special" and a natural bent for vegetarians:

    • Crystal Palace: My favorite buffet, partly because of its vegetarian salads (tabbouleah, couscous, quinoa to name a few) and comforting hot side dishes--and I'm not even a vegetarian!  What makes it special?  A hug from Pooh!
    • Sanaa:  This new restaurant at Animal Lodge actually has its own vegetarian menu with a soup, several sides, salads, and appetizers!  Safari animals are within just a few yards to make your dinner memorable.  It's probably more on the adventurous side--not only with the animals but the dishes, too.
    • California Grill: If you want to fork out a little more money, you can't beat California Grill for its menu or its view!  The chefs here can create wonderfully fresh dishes to accommodate your dietary needs, and I promise the view of the Disney campus will make this a birthday to remember!  Best of all, if you can't get a reservation late enough to see Magic Kingdom's fireworks from inside the restaurant, you can come back to the restaurant and see them the same day of your reservation from its observation deck (which is a better view, in my opinion, anyway!)
Wishing y'all a magical vacation and a memorable birthday!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
