We will be celebrating both an eleventh anniversary and a fifty-seventh birthday when we are at Disney this December. What can I do to make it special?

Hi Theresa! Congratulations on both your wonderful anniversary and also that birthday you will be celebrating while at Walt Disney World!

Disney offers many super ways to celebrate a special occasion but some you might want to share with other family members so they might surprise you during your stay. The Disney florist has many nice room packages for these events that can be delivered once you have checked in.  To see the examples and pricing go to

I would certainly make special dining reservations for both the anniversary and the birthday. The most romantic spot on property is Victoria and Alberts but it is also the priciest. A second choice would be Bistro de Paris in the France pavilion on Epcot where you will find a romantic and quiet restaurant tucked upstairs of the busy pavilion. A third choice is Citricos located in the Grand Floridian resort.  A special dining event is the Wine Dinners available at the Flying Fish restaurant in the Boardwalk area. This is a 6 course meal paired with some wonderful wines from around the world. I have done this several times and it is truly an awesome experience.

One thing I like to do for special occasions is the Fireworks Cruises for either Illuminations or the Magic Kingdom Wishes show. These come with snacks and drinks but you can easily add a special Disney cake and champagne by going through the resort room service area. Just choose your resort to leave from and order from the same for the special add ons.

A more relaxed evening would be in Downtown Disney where you can take in a movie with dinner at the AMC theater or a game or two of bowling at Splitsville. Then head to Cirque du Soleil for that incredible performance.

So many choices and it usually ends up so little time to do and see it all!
