    We are going to be celebrating our disabled sons 16th birthday in WDW ( April 2016). Please help me figure out some special things to do for his Birthday. We are traveling from South Dakota and it will be just Mom, Dad, and the birthday boy.

    Hi Mandi! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
    Birthdays are always magical at the Walt Disney World Resort, and if you can arrange details in advance, it is going to be the greatest day ever!
    For celebrating your son’s birthday, I highly recommend Chef Mickey’s to start off his special day with a breakfast celebration. This is my favorite Character Dining Experience, at a very special restaurant, located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It is an all-you-care-to-eat buffet and you will meet Disney Characters for photos and autographs.
    If you prefer to celebrate this special day at one of Disney Theme parks, I would go to the Magic Kingdom Park, which is in my opinion the most magical one. In this case, I suggest you a Character Dining Experience at The Crystal Palace, a buffet restaurant, inspired by Victorian greenhouses of the last 1800’s. It´s a buffet restaurant, and while you dine you will meet Winnie the Pooh and some of his friends.
    Another amazing place for celebrations at WDW is California Grill, a very nice restaurant located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. From there you will discover beautiful panoramic views including the Magic Kingdom Park fireworks - Wishes nighttime spectacular - and have delicious food. It would be the most magical way to end this unforgettable day!
    Dining reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. Ordering a very special birthday cake to be delivered to the restaurant is always a great surprise! You can choose from a variety of cakes and shapes.
    Finally, don’t forget to request a complimentary Happy Birthday button for him!
