We will be celebrating my daughter’s 21st birthday on September 15. Where are my daughter be able to use her vertical ID to purchase alcoholic drinks in the parks or hotels to celebrate her birthday. We are from the state of IL. Thank you.

    Hey Howdy Hey, Dorothy!

I'm so very glad you stopped by planDisney to discuss one of my very favorite topics: celebrations at Walt Disney World Resort! I have spent several birthdays as an adult in The Most Magical Place on Earth, and I can assure you that there is nothing quite like it. Be sure to pick up a 'Birthday Celebration' pin for her from the front desk of your Disney Resort hotel or a Guest Services location at any Walt Disney World Resort theme park. The well-wishes she is sure to receive from Cast Members and fellow Guests who notice her button throughout the day will make her feel as if she is truly a Disney Princess!

Because we all know that birthday calories don't count, Walt Disney World Resort (with its multitude of diverse dining options), is the practically perfect place to celebrate! Happily, as long as her valid, government-issued ID indicates that her date of birth makes her 21 years of age she will be free to mark the occasion with a toast (or two or three) regardless of the ID's orientation.

Magically, her birthday falls during the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, so there will be plenty of limited-time tasty adult beverages for your daughter to sample. The Disney Parks Blog recently released this year's Disney Eats: Foodie Guide for the Food & Wine Festival. I encourage y'all to look through the menus before the celebration begins so that she can prioritize her must-tries.

Finally, if she's interested in uniquely-themed cocktails and light bites, I suggest stopping by a few of the Disney Resorts Collection hotel lounges during your vacation. Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Enchanted Rose at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Belle Vue Lounge at Disney's BoardWalk Inn have my favorite immersive atmospheres.

If you are in need of any additional suggestions for your upcoming celebration, Dorothy, I hope you'll stop back by. I'm always happy to help!

    Thinking Happy Thoughts,
    Lizzie
