We're celebrating my daughter's 9th birthday. We have the dining plan but are thinking of a bday cake. That actual day we are going to the Aloha Dinner Show. Is it ok there or should I do it at traditional restaurant? Have you every ordered one?

    Lisa:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!

You can absolutely order a special birthday cake for the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show ahead of time or if you forget to call the required 48 business hours ahead, you can also order a standard 6-inch chocolate or vanilla cake (similar to a Sara Lee cake) at the podium the night of the show.

I would recommend calling Private Dining at the Polynesian Resort at 407-824-2165 where the Aloha Dinner Show is performed to explore your choices of a 6-inch, 8-inch, sheet cake or my favorite, the Mickey Mouse Cake. For value and taste, the Mickey Mouse Cake is always my recommendation, as it feeds 10 to 12 people, cheaper typically than everyone ordering a dessert. It comes in vanilla or chocolate--chocolate is my favorite--with chocolate mousse filling, chocolate ganache, and in the shape of Mickey's face. It's personalized with chocolate writing around the edge.

    Wishing y'all a magical birthday!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
