Celebrating my daughter's 5th bday at WDW in Sep/Oct 2013,also MY 1st trip!Staying at the AKL (pool view). Savanna views are out of our budget.Any of the pool view rooms have views of the animal/savannah? What top 5 attractions/rides do you suggest at WDW?

    Hi Ashley,

You have so much to celebrate on this trip! I recommend that you stop by Guest Relations at one of the theme parks and get a "first visit" button for yourself and a "happy birthday" button for your daughter. These are free, and although they do not guarantee you any special treatment, it is always nice to hear cast members and other guests acknowledge your special occasion.

I have stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge as well. To my knowledge, there are no pool view rooms with a savanna view; however, people who have stayed in pool view rooms say that the views there are quite nice. Remember the pools at this resort are lushly themed, so the views of them will be pretty. Also, there are many public areas, such as Arusha Rock right off of the main lobby, where you can go to see the animals.

The top five attractions that I suggest at Walt Disney World - that's a fun question! I'm going to base this on your 5-year-old daughter. I have a 7-year-old daughter myself, so I don't have to remember too far back to think of what she loved. Let's do one at each park. At Disney's Animal Kingdom, I am going to suggest Kilimanjaro Safaris. Especially if you are concerned about not seeing enough animals at the resort, you will see so many here. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, ride Toy Story Midway Mania! On this interactive ride, you and your daughter can participate in midway-style games while on a ride-through adventure. At Epcot, for a ride slightly off the beaten path, try the Living with the Land boat ride. You will float through greenhouses and an aquatic farm. At Magic Kingdom, it has to be it's a small world, the absolutely classic boat ride. For the fifth and final must-do, head to New Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom for Enchanted Tales with Belle. This retelling of the Beauty and the Beast story will captivate your daughter.

If you have more questions before you go, Ashley, please do not hesitate to ask!
