We are celebrating our daughter's 7th bday at MK, is there a restaurant that is "better" or unique or special (more than the usual Disney magic)? We are going to have a cake made for her. Thinking Tony's or Crystal Palace. Any ideas?

    Hi Kerri,

Happy (almost) birthday to your little princess!

I have a few dining ideas for a super magical birthday meal.  I like Crystal Palace.  The setting is magnificent in a whimsical glass atrium.  If your daughter is a fan of the Hundred Acre Woods and Winnie the Pooh, she'll be in heaven.  The buffet is wonderful, and features a variety of foods, so even the pickiest eaters are sure to find something they like!  The dessert bar is a big hit with my kids.  Tony's Town Square has good Italian food, but no characters, so if you are hoping for a character meal, this isn't the spot.   If your daughter loves princesses, you can try for dinner at the Castle, hosted by the Fairy Godmother.  She leads celebrations of special occasions during the meal (for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.).  Finally, I recommend Chef Mickey's for the quintessential character meal at Disney.  While it's not immediately at the Magic Kingdom, it is located at the Contemporary Resort, which is a quick walk or monorail ride away from the park's main gates.  Chef Mickey's is a very celebratory environment, and features Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale.  You'll find lots of people celebrating special occasions here.  The characters even do a special number to highlight the guests with special events.  When you finish up, you can go right back to the Magic Kingdom to ride some more attractions, and watch Wishes.

    Have a wonderful trip!
