We are celebrating our daughters 40/BD on 11/30.She uses a wheelchair for mobility. We have been AP’s here in Fl and Ca. She wants so badly to see the light show on castle, but people stand up and she can’t see. Even in disabled seating. Please help us.

Hello, Char! The planDisney Panel wishes you a warm welcome!

Your daughter must be so excited about her birthday celebration with Mickey TODAY! Make sure to stop by Guest Relations while in Magic Kingdom Park for a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" button. I had mine personalized for a small fee with fancy calligraphy at the Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe for my last birthday.

Another reason to stop by Guest Relations is to pick up a Guide Map for Guests with Disabilities (or download a digital copy of the map on the Disability Services webpage). The map has a designated fireworks viewing area for disabled guests marked with a purple F and a wheelchair icon. While I have not personally watched from this spot, I did stand nearby last month to see Disney Enchantment, and the Cast Members were cordoning off this area in the castle hub well in advance. From the looks of it, the wheelchair guests could see reasonably well without others standing in their way. Since it is first come, first served, I recommend arriving well in advance (about 45 minutes early) and expressing your concerns to a Cast Member.

The guide map will also provide information on mobility access for select attractions and experiences, including how to enter the queues and whether you must transfer from the wheelchair to ride. If your daughter wants a big hug from Mickey, make sure to visit Town Square Theater, where there is a special access ramp.

I hope your daughter has an absolute blast celebrating her big day today, Char!
