Disney Wish! I've been fortunate to celebrate a few birthdays at sea and can tell you there's nothing quite like enjoying your special day while on a cruise! I highly recommend a fun-themed birthday shirt, ears/tiara, and a celebration button (pick one up at Guest Services), so everyone onboard can help y'all celebrate! Also, be sure to note the special occasion on your cruise reservation under "Special Requests," so the Cast and Crew will know. Your amazing dining team will want to recognize the birthday at dinner!
I love all the unique ways being on a cruise makes a birthday more special. Disney Cruise Line offers stateroom decor, and I've enjoyed opening the door on embarkation day to see the room all decked out for me! The "Celebrate Today Birthday Decor" package is available for purchase up to three days before you set sail in the "Onboard Gifts" section online. Everything in the package makes for unique souvenirs; it's birthday-themed and not available in the onboard merchandise shops. You can also preorder cupcakes or a Mickey cake in the gifts section. A brewtiful way to start the day is to stop by one of the specialty cafés onboard for a birthday-themed cup of coffee or hot cocoa. Just let the barista know, and they will whip up the perfect birthday surprise! A birthday cruise is also the perfect time to indulge in something decadent at Inside-Out: Joyful Sweets. So many tasty treats for purchase in this sweet shop! And since we are talking about all the delicious things to eat and drink, a special meal at Palo Steakhouse or Enchanté is always a good idea when commemorating a birthday! These dining experiences are for
adults only, for an additional fee, but so worth it!
My other favorite ways to celebrate onboard are reserving a beverage tasting, booking an appointment at the Untangled Salon, and/or the
Senses Spa. The Rainforest Room on the Wish-class ships is gorgeous, so a few hours in this area is the ultimate relaxation on your cruise, especially the outdoor space. The Shutters' photographers also want to help you commemorate the big day, so take advantage of the
photo package to have the entire trip documented through their lenses. The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will list all photo opportunities. There is also an option for a Signature Private Photo Session if you are looking for something more personalized. These can be booked online when your booking window opens. Pictures always make the best souvenirs, especially on special occasions. And if you are looking for other souvenirs, consider something Disney Cruise Line-themed from the onboard merchandise shops. If you see something on the first night, be sure to grab it then, as quantities are sometimes limited onboard.
