I am celebrating my 40th birthday and want to dine at either California Grill or Luau at Polynesian. We will have our 1 and 3 year old with us. Which would be better with the kids? Thanks!

    Jennifer:

Although some think its story line is a bit hokey, the dancing in the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is quite captivating. However, I would caution you against taking two little ones with you. As much as I enjoy the dancing, I must admit that two of my children (who were at the time in elementary school) fell asleep 2/3 of the way into the show...

I guess that leaves California Grill as my choice between the two, and if this is the case, I would recommend that you reserve an early dining time so your children can enjoy the view. But honestly, it wouldn't be my pick as an alternative.

Have you considered Mickey's Backyard BBQ? This dinner show provides all of the essentials I feel you need with youngsters in tow: a buffet with simple food for picky eaters (hotdogs, hamburgers, ribs, and macaroni & cheese), Characters (including both Mickey AND Minnie), and a fun floor show with a roping cowboy who will mesmerized your little ones. Top it off with all-you-can-eat ice cream for the kids and beer for the adults and you've got all the ingredients for a fun time for everyone!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
