Hi! I am celebrating my 50th Birthday on DCL with several close friends and family. Can I pay for a private meet and greet? Or book a room to celebrate in for an hour for a cost? I can't find any info online except for weddings. :-(

    Ahoy there, Lori!

What an absolutely magical way to celebrate your 50th birthday—with your loved ones, some of your closest friends, and the magic of Disney Cruise Line! I can’t think of a better way to mark such a special occasion than by setting sail on a voyage full of Disney magic. Let’s talk about how to sprinkle in some extra pixie dust to make it an unforgettable celebration!

If you’re dreaming of a private event onboard, you’re on the right course. To arrange something like this, you’ll want to reach out to Walt Disney World Group Sales. They’re available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Eastern), and they can guide you through all the details, including venue options, costs based on the size of your group, and how long you’d like to celebrate. While I haven’t personally hosted a private event onboard, I’ve seen some truly magical celebrations in action—imagine raising a toast in one of the ship’s stunning lounges or enjoying a private gathering with your crew in a gorgeous venue.

While Disney Cruise Line does not currently offer private character meet-and-greets, you’ll still have plenty of chances to see Mickey and his pals throughout your voyage. Check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for scheduled meet-and-greets, and keep your camera ready—you never know when a surprise character appearance might happen. I’ve gotten some of my favorite photos with Mickey while onboard, and I know you’ll treasure those magical moments, too!

Don’t forget to log into your Disney Cruise Line reservation and head to the Special Requests section to let Disney know you’re celebrating your 50th! My wife and I added our anniversary as a celebration during one of our cruises, and the Cast Members made it so special with little surprises, like celebratory treats and a bit of extra attention at dinner. You never know what kind of magic might come your way!

Once onboard, stop by Guest Services to pick up a birthday button. This cruise is your big celebration, and the button is a perfect way to share the fun with everyone around you. You’ll be amazed at how many fellow Guests and Cast Members will wish you a happy birthday—it’s one of those little things that makes Disney cruises so special. And if you really want to sweeten the celebration, you can pre-order a birthday cake to enjoy with your family and friends. Trust me, nothing says "party at sea" like a Disney cake!

Lori, I am so excited for your incredible celebration next January. There’s something so special about celebrating life’s milestones with Disney Cruise Line—it’s not just a vacation; it’s a collection of memories that you’ll carry with you forever.

Wishing you smooth seas, unforgettable celebrations, and a birthday adventure that’s nothing short of legendary!

Sea ya real soon with pixie dust and ocean breezes,
    Dustin
