We will be celebrating our anniversary this summer at WDW, and I'm looking for hotel options -- thinking I'd like to surprise my wife with views of the fireworks. Could you make a suggestion?

    Hi David:

Happy anniversary. You should look into the three monorail Resorts, the Contemporary Resort, the Polynesian Resort, and the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Your best bet to view fireworks from your Resort would be to book at The Contemporary. A number of rooms directly face the Magic Kingdom. Guests can also head to the Contemporary's 4th floor viewing platform to catch the fireworks. While you can see fireworks just by stepping outside the Contemporary lobby, the 4th floor platform is a better spot. In addition, guests of Bay Lake Tower, the Disney Vacation Club addition to the Contemporary Resort (as well as Guests dining at California Grill), have access to roof observation decks to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

The Polynesian Resort is another great place to watch fireworks. Specifically, you can watch fireworks from the comfort of the Polynesian Resort beach. The music is piped into the beach area and the view is spectacular and the crowds are generally light at this location. Even if you aren't a Guest of the Polynesian, you can still take advantage of the beach viewing location. Also, certain rooms at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa have viewing access to the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

    Enjoy your anniversary vacation.
