Hi there, Sandra! Welcome to planDisney.
I cannot think of a better place to celebrate a birthday than the Disneyland Resort! Your little guy is going to smile ear to ear during his Disney birthday, and you'll have some wonderful forever memories. Hurray!
Guests 3 and older must have their own
theme park ticket and
Theme Park Reservation in order to visit Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. Guests under 3 are considered Guests of Mickey and do not need tickets. So, if your visit falls on or after your son turns 3, he will need a ticket and a reservation. In the case you describe, if you visit a few days after his birthday, he will need valid theme park admission and a reservation for his birthday visit.
For the big day, be sure to stop by City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park or Guest Services in Disney California Adventure to pick up a
complimentary celebration button for the birthday boy. My family loves to wear these buttons to proclaim our celebrations, and it's so much fun to receive good wishes from Cast Members and fellow Guests. You could even make a keepsake shadow box with the button and a photo from your day!
As you plan and dream about the big day, be sure to read the
Returning to a Land of Magic information so you can be aware of all the operational information about the phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort. I also recommend reading the
Disney Parks Blog for news and fun stories - you might see a delicious cupcake or treat that would be just perfect for a birthday celebration. And, please come see us here at planDisney if we can answer any further questions. It's always a pleasure to help Guests planning special celebrations and magical moments.
I hope your son has The Happiest Birthday on Earth!
