Hi! I am going to my celebrate my son 5th birthday in Feb. I was wondering what do you guys do for kids birthday. I was hoping to do something at magic kingdom for him. on 2/23

    Howdy! Welcome to planDisney!

Well, Rebeca, you are sure to win the "Mom of the Year" award for celebrating your son's birthday with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort! I can't think of a better way to celebrate turning five than to enjoy a day at The Most Magical Place on Earth! What an absolute dream come true for your little one! I would love to share a few ideas to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your son's birthday celebration!

Your first stop should be to Guest Relations at the Magic Kingdom Park or the Front Desk of any Disney Resort Collection hotel, where you can pick up a complimentary "Happy Birthday" celebration button. The team there will be happy to customize it with the birthday boy's name, giving him something extra festive to wear throughout the park. Your son is sure to be delighted as Cast Members (and maybe even a few of your favorite Characters!) spot the button and wish him a very happy birthday all day long! It's such a great way to make sure he feels special on his big day!

Another fantastic way to celebrate your son's birthday is with a delicious Mickey Mouse celebration cake! These fabulous Mickey-shaped cakes are available at select table-service restaurants and can be engraved with a special birthday message. Now, you will want to be sure you have an Advanced Dining Reservation at a participating restaurant to take advantage of this Enchanting Extra. Since the availability of celebration cakes may be limited, I suggest heading over to the hostess podium early in the day to request your cake.

Another fabulous way to make your son feel extra special is to get the whole family decked out in birthday gear. There are some super fun options out there, like matching "Birthday Squad" and "Birthday Boy" shirts that are just so adorable. It's always fun to spot a group celebrating with their loved ones, and your son is sure to feel like a star as Cast Members and fellow Guests alike stop by to say "Happy Birthday!"

Rebeca, I truly hope your son's birthday is as magical as can be! I would love to answer any other questions you have about planning his special day, so please stop by again real soon should you need any help!

    Until next time,
    Diana
