I would like to celebrate the New Year at Disney World. What is the best park to do this? Are there any special events at the parks for this?

    Hi Toni,

Welcome to planDisney! I am always happy to greet a fellow North Carolinian!

Celebrating New Year's Eve at the Walt Disney World Resort will be special from any park quite honestly! Having said that, I will say that we are still awaiting additional details regarding special events during that time of year. Keep checking the Enchanting Extras and Operational Updates pages for additional news as experiences reopen.

It might help to take a look at what happened in prior years so that you can get a sense of what the party possibilities might be. Read the article from the Disney Parks Blog, Ringing in the New Year at Walt Disney World Resort. I would probably pick EPCOT or Magic Kingdom because of the potential for crowds and we prefer being able to walk back to the resort when the parks are especially crowded. A few years ago, there were also a few Appetizing Occasions at a few of our favorite dining spots. We adore any celebration at California Grill. The views of Magic Kingdom from the restaurant are spectacular. Disney's Rivera Resort also has rooftop dining options with gorgeous views. Be on the lookout for celebrations at these locations.

While we wait for more news, I do suggest that you go ahead and book a vacation package if you have not done so already. Once booked, you will need to link it in your My Disney Experience account so that you can make Disney Park Pass system reservations. Be sure to check the theme park reservation availability calendar for the dates of your visit. Keep an eye on that park pass availability calendar because park pass reservation availability could change any minute.

Toni, also take note of your advanced dining reservation window. Currently, we can make dining reservations 60-days prior to arrival. I strongly suggest that you go ahead and make dining reservations even if we are still waiting on news regarding New Year's Eve events. That way, you will have something planned even if there are no events that you could attend. We have actually enjoyed our immediate-family only celebrations, so a dining reservation just for you and whomever might be traveling with you might be perfect!

    Magic and memories,
    Donyell
