Hi Patricia,
We celebrated my daughter's 7th birthday at Walt Disney World. Let me share with you some things that we did to make it a special trip.
There is so much that you can do at no additional cost to celebrate your daughter's birthday at Walt Disney World. Be sure to get a "Happy Birthday" button for her to wear. These are available at Guest Relations at any of the Walt Disney World theme parks. There is no guarantee of special treatment for wearing the birthday button; however, you never know when a little extra pixie dust will be sprinkled on your vacation. My daughter wore one on her birthday and received an amazing cupcake as a birthday treat after our lunch at The Plaza Restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It is also really fun to hear cast members and other guests wishing your little one a happy birthday all day long when they see the birthday button. Also, be sure to indicate on any Walt Disney Resort and dining reservations that you are celebrating a birthday. Again, you never know if there will be any extra magic, but it is always good to have it noted on the reservation just in case. Another idea is to let your daughter be entirely in charge of her birthday at a theme park. Let her pick the restaurants and attractions that you experience in honor of her special day.
You can also go to
Disney Floral and Gifts to create a special gift for your daughter. There is a cost associated with this; however, they have gifts in a range of prices, with different characters and even special birthday gifts. On our daughter's birthday, we had a Minnie Mouse plush holding a bouquet of balloons delivered to our resort. Once you peruse their website, I suggest that you call them at 407-WDW-GIFT (407-393-4438) to speak with a Dream Maker to customize a gift for your daughter.
I hope these ideas are helpful. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions, Patricia!
