Hi there Melissa, and welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with another great question. You've come to the right place; we just love to talk about celebrating at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
I can't think of a better place to spend a big day than a Walt Disney World theme park, and I have a few ideas to make the occasion even more special. Upon arrival, don't forget to stop by Guest Relations to pick up a celebration pin. Cast Members and fellow Guests love to get in on the fun and share birthday wishes!
Disney's Hollywood Studios has some fantastic restaurants, so if a celebratory meal appeals to you, I suggest making an
Advanced Dining Reservation. Be sure to let the Cast Members know who the guest of honor is; you never know if any pixie-dust will fall your way! My favorite table service restaurants here are the classically elegant
Hollywood Brown Derby (the Cobb salad absolutely lives up to the hype) and the authentically vintage
50's Prime Time Café.
To sweeten the party, arrange to have a
Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake delivered to either restaurant. Simply visit the podium of the restaurant where you plan to dine and make your request. Quantities of same-day cakes are limited, and you can also call 407-827-2253 to pre-order your tasty treat. My family has tried the chocolate and white chocolate versions of this delectable dessert, and we love them both! We'll be spending my daughter's birthday at
Disney's Riviera Resort next week, and a white chocolate Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake will be the centerpiece of the celebration.
If the guest of honor is an aspiring Jedi or Resistance fighter, consider a special experience in
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Reserve a spot at
Savi's Workshop and create a custom-made lightsaber. Visit the
Droid Depot at Black Spire Outpost’s industrial depository to build and bring home a new sidekick. When you're done, stop by
Oga's Cantina and toast to your creation with an out of this galaxy libation. Don't depart from Batuu before
posing for a unique birthday photo.
I hope this has given you some ideas for celebrating the big 4-0 in Disney's Hollywood Studios. If you hop aboard
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway while you're in the area, make sure to wish Mickey Mouse a belated birthday; he turned 92 years young this past fall.
See ya real soon!
