Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Richard!
Congratulations on your 30th anniversary. How wonderful! My husband and I honeymooned at Walt Disney World Resort, too, so I know what a great place it is for couples to celebrate important milestones. It is incredibly romantic that you are planning your upcoming celebration so meticulously. Your wife is a lucky lady.
Whether you use a travel agent to book your vacation should depend entirely on how comfortable you are managing the details and deadlines of your trip. If you enjoy checking the
Walt Disney World Resort homepage periodically to catch when your travel dates open for booking, you are probably fine to book your stay on your own. However, if you are concerned you might miss an important deadline, it's not a bad idea at all to work with an experienced travel agent. He or she can be a helpful partner in bringing your vision for a perfect anniversary celebration to fruition. When I book my school's annual senior trip, I use a local travel agent who has been in the business for decades and sells Disney vacations all the time. Because of their familiarity with Disney timelines, they typically reach out to me to let me know when
special offers are announced or when my 180-day window to book dining is fast approaching. They have been a big help to me through the years.
So, what kind of plans do you have for your trip? Will you book a massage for two at Senses - A Disney Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort or, perhaps, an Illuminations: Reflections of Earth fireworks cruise? Is there a favorite restaurant you and your wife enjoy?
Let us know if you need any additional advice as you plan. My friends and I here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel would love to help you make this your best vacation ever!
Best wishes to you and your wife,
Jill
