@ CBR how much of a walk is it from Jamaica (Bldg 45 say) across the cay island to pool and OPR? We will not have a car and will be using disney buses to get to the parks. Can you request waterview? Are ground floor rooms right on the beach?

    Hi Wendy,

We've stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort on at least three separate vacations. Twice, we were in the Jamaica village!

The walk to Old Port Royale is about five minutes from Jamaica. A bit longer when we had a small child going at his own pace rather than being pushed in a stroller! The walk across Parrot Cay is absolutely beautiful. I love the views from the bridges and the sights on the island. I actually prefer to stay on this side of the resort so that I can enjoy the ambiance of the walk over to Old Port Royale!

You can reserve a waterview room as they cost about $30 more per night. For us, the value of a water view is low as these are rooms without balconies and we really aren't in our room enough to enjoy the view. Other hotels are worth the extra cost of a great view (Animal Kingdom Lodge, Polynesian Resort, etc.) but the moderate resorts have exterior corridors and thus the view seems less important.

Most ground floor rooms are not right near the beach. This is a large resort and their are meandering pathways and beautiful lawns that separate most of the buildings from the actual sandy beach. Some buildings have ground floor rooms just step from the beach. These would include Jamaica 42, Aruba 55, Martinique 22, Trinidad North 32, and Trinidad South 38. Of these buildings, only a select amount of rooms would be extremely close to the beach.

Stop back with any further questions. Have a wonderful vacation!
