Cathy: Visiting November 9th-17th & would very much like to see the Christmas decorations. Staying at the Grand Floridian. It is October 21st. Does anyone know when the gingerbread house will be built? The Disney Blog seems to be vey focused on Hallo

    Hi, Pamela!

I absolutely love everything about Christmas, and nobody does it better than Disney with their beautiful decorations around property!

While the Gingerbread House in the Grand Floridian will not be open until November 19, the building of it underway starting around November 15.  Even though you will not get the chance to buy some of the yummy gingerbread, it might still be fun to stop by to see them creating this holiday masterpiece!  (Fun fact:  Did you know they use over 700 pounds of chocolate and 600 pounds of sugar in creating this house? Wow!)

Some holiday displays around property that will be ready for your viewing (and maybe tasting!) pleasure during your stay:  Holiday Gazebo and Stitch's Bakery Store Front at Disney's Boardwalk opens November 16, and Contemporary's 17 foot Gingerbread Holiday Tree opens November 15.

Throughout the parks, you will find more and more decorations going up each day as Mickey Mouse loves the holidays and can't wait to make the WDW property festive!     I hope you get to experience some of the holiday magic during your awesome November vacation.  Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
