Hi Cathy - originally from Rocky River - went to John Carroll for grad school. We're going to WDW from May 27 to June 1. It's the first trip for my 3 granddaughters, ages 11, 7, and 2. Is there special recognition for them? Will the youngest have fun?

Hi, Sean!  Your princesses should stop by guest services at any of the theme parks to let a cast member know this is their first magical vacation to Walt Disney World.  They will receive buttons that they can wear announcing their "1st Visit!"

I think your 2 year old granddaughter will love all that Disney has to offer - from a 2 year old's point of view!  She will probably love the lights, the stacks of stuffed animals in the gift shops, and attractions such as "it's a small world."   To keep her happy, make sure to bring a stroller, snacks, juice boxes, small toys, sunscreen, and a hat and sunglasses. You will also want to keep on her schedule, including naps, afternoon breaks, and even try to keep with her bedtime.  This isn't always easy, but a well rested mouseketeer is a happy one!

When my kids were younger, my parents would often take the baby back to the resort while my husband and I played in the parks a bit longer with my older child.  We tried our best to keep everyone happy (even when my son at age 3 only wanted to ride the monorail, around and around for hours!)  Try to keep a flexible schedule and let everyone take turns with selecting attractions so everyone feels included.

Take time to enjoy the magic with your granddaughters, and thanks for your question!  It is always good to hear from a fellow "Blue Streak!"   Have a great vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
