Hi Cathy from neighboring Disney fan in WV. 51 days to go. This will be our kids' 2nd visit to the world. We've never seen "Voyage of Little Mermaid" at HS. Is it a little scary at times? Our 4yr old is scared loud noise. Thanks so much,

Hi, Stacy!   What is scary to one child might be fine for another, but I can share my experience with you!   My daughter is now 10, but when she was around 4 or 5, we took her to Voyage of the Little Mermaid.  I thought it was awesome!   But, to my little princess, it was terrifying!   It is very dark, and they use puppet-type characters with black lights.   My daughter really was scared and we had to leave.

I really don't remember the noise as much as the darkness.   To be safe, I would wait on this one, but you know your child best and what will be enjoyable!   I am always one to play it safe.  With so many other fun attractions, why risk them being frightened.   Start with Playhouse Disney Live on Stage, Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage, MuppetVision 3-D and see how those go.  If your 4 year old seems OK, give it a try!

Your WDW vacation will be here before you know it!   Wishing your family a very magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is sailing with Disney Cruise Line, running (or cheering!) at runDisney events, taking hula lessons at Aulani, or vacationing at the Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. I am proud to be a part of the planDisney team and cannot wait to share my tips and advice for a magical vacation
