Welcome back to planDisney, Eduard! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today and help you keep your Christmas traditions alive while you're spending
the holidays at Walt Disney World.
Here's what we know so far: while we don't have official details for this year's Christmas Mass, we can use last year's info as a helpful guide. In 2024, a Christmas Eve Catholic Mass was celebrated at 5:00 PM in the Fantasia Ballroom at
Disney's Contemporary Resort. Times and locations can shift from year to year, so consider that information as a planning placeholder rather than a promise. You can also keep an eye on the
My Disney Experience app for any updates regarding schedules for events.
Disney typically posts finalized details a few days before Christmas on the information boards in the resort lobbies. When you're on property, pop by your resort's lobby or ask a Cast Member at the Front Desk. They'll have the most current information as soon as it's released. If you'll be arriving closer to Christmas Eve, you can also check the Contemporary's lobby postings directly to confirm the exact time and venue.
If you prefer a parish setting or want a backup plan, the closest Catholic church is the Basilica of Mary, Queen of the Universe on Vineland Avenue. It's beautiful, welcoming to visitors, and offers multiple liturgies on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so you can pick a time that suits your plans. They offer Mass in English, Spanish, Polish, and Portuguese, so you have lots of options to choose from. Driving from the resort area is quick and straightforward, and rideshare works well, too.
So here's the bottom line, Eduard: watch out for lobby postings this week for the official on-site schedule, but use last year's 5:00 PM Christmas Eve at the Contemporary timing as a rough planning guide in the meantime. Remember, an off-site church is an excellent nearby option with plenty of service times.
Wishing you a peaceful, joy-filled Christmas at Walt Disney World!
