Hi Janice,
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm happy to help you with information about religious services in or near Walt Disney World.
Easter and Christmas are the only times I'm aware of when services are held on
Walt Disney World property. Though no information has been released for Easter 2020 that I've seen, usually there are both Roman Catholic and Protestant services on Easter Sunday at the
Contemporary Resort. My fellow panelist Anne Marie recently did a great job of recounting the details, including information about parking, and
you can find her answer here.
The rest of the year, the nearest place to attend Mass is the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe. It is my understanding that the church was established to serve tourists visiting the Orlando area attractions, so you would certainly not be the only vacationing family at the services.
The Basilica offers daily Mass as well as Saturday and Sunday services. The website currently lists four Sunday Mass times: 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Because schedules can change, I recommend visiting the Basilica's website, maryqueenoftheuniverse.org, to verify the schedule and see any special services, such as those for Holy Week, before you go.
The church is located near Exit 68 on Interstate 4, about a 15-minute drive from most Walt Disney World resorts. While there aren't shuttles to the church, it is a short and relatively inexpensive taxi, Uber or Lyft ride away if you do not have a car.
If you need help with directions or transportation arrangements, please check with
Guest Relations in the lobby of your resort. Thanks again for your question, Janice. Please let us know if we can help you in any other way as you plan your vacation. Enjoy!
Wilma
