Will the Castle be open on May 2, 2019 at Disneyland?

Hi there, Diane! Your Disneyland Resort vacation is almost here… time to Get Your Ears On!

I checked the Entertainment Schedule for May 2, 2019, and unfortunately, the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough is still scheduled to be closed for refurbishment on that date. After speaking with a Cast Member, it looks like the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough is listed on the refurbishment schedule through the end of May. Other closures for May 2 include Casey Jr. Circus Train, Storybook Land Canal Boats, Minnie’s House, and The Briar Patch. I recommend staying tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for any news about the re-opening date of the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough!

The Castle refurbishment is part of Project Stardust, a Resort-wide effort to make enhancements that maximize Guest comfort while improving Guest flow in anticipation of the upcoming opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

In the meantime, I recommend checking out the beautiful Sleeping Beauty-inspired facades surrounding the Castle. The front-facing façade gives Guests a sneak peek at what the Castle will look like after its makeover is complete. Don’t forget to check out the back of the Castle, too, for a fun photo opp with a façade featuring Prince Philip and Maleficent.
