Ahoy there, Dinah! Thanks for sailing our way here at planDisney with your question about the
Castaway Club! I remember my first cruise *cough cough* years ago where I got my Silver Castaway Club status - I was 15 at the time, and it felt like something that I could brag about to all my friends. Little did I know that one cruise would make such a difference once I met my wife and we started cruising more frequently to where I was Gold that one-cruise sooner! Haha, if 15-year-old Andrew could see me now!
If your sister has sailed before, she definitely has a Castaway Club number, and finding it is WAY easier than finding buried treasure! All she has to do is head to the Castaway Club page on the
Disney Cruise Line website, and sign in to her Disney Account at the top of the page. Once she does that, she should be able to scroll down the page, and underneath the "Welcome Back" message on the left should be her current status and Castaway Club ID!
Now if your sister is a new cruiser, she will not see a status or ID there, as these are assigned after returning from your first cruise! The race is on for her to catch up, so I'd definitely suggest she at the very least place a reservation for a placeholder while onboard next April! A placeholder is a great open-ended reservation for a small deposit that can be applied to a future cruise! It's a wonderful way to keep the excitement alive as you progress through the ranks of Castaway Club membership - and honestly it's one of the only ways I can manage the sadness of debarkation day!
Well Dinah, I hope that gives you a clear map where "X" marks the location of your sister's Castaway Club ID! Thank you so much for your question, and if any others appear on your map as you continue your planning, please send a message in a bottle my way here at
planDisney! You'd be surprised how many I get - one time a really nice recipe for a very island-y drink washed ashore...but that's a story for another day.
SEA ya' real soon!
Andrew
