Hi there, Christine!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for sailing by with your question about your upcoming Bahamian adventure at sea! I always think the fall is the perfect time for a vacation and the added
holiday decorations will really start your holiday season off right! The huge gingerbread house in the atrium is impressive…and it smells delicious, too!
Castaway Cay is one of my favorite places to visit when onboard a Disney Cruise Line vacation! It’s so nice to have all the same amenities that you have onboard for the entire day you are on land, including activities, character greetings, entertainment and more! And the barbecue lunch at Cookie’s may be my little Mouseketeers favorite meal ever…especially with a huge chocolate chip cookie for dessert! Each time we visit we plan to hit the beach early, grab some of the complimentary lounge chairs and enjoy the day! On our most recent visit to Castaway Cay, my boys discovered the island’s water slide – Pelican Plunge – and they loved it! Guests must be at least 38 inches tall to go on the water slide. One thing that is unique about the Pelican Plunge is that it’s located on platform that you must swim out to in order to ascend the stairs to the slide! No registration is necessary for Guest use but since the line can sometimes get lengthy, I do recommend making your way there early in the day!
Make sure you don’t miss a ride (or two, three, four…) on the
AquaDuck onboard the Disney Dream! It’s a fun and thrilling ride that is worth doing both during the day and then again after dark for a totally different experience! You won’t regret it!
Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure at sea,
Stephanie
