Welcome aboard Disney Cruise Line! Your question just made me so happy -
Castaway Cay is truly paradise so I don't even know where to begin! There are endless activities on Disney's private island, so I will just jump in and list some of my favorites.
First and foremost, Castaway Cay is a beach with beautiful sand, water, and relaxing waves. You might simply find a comfortable chair under a palm tree or umbrella and spend you day soaking up the sun. Beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels are all provided for you. If you are looking for a tropical beverage, you will find plenty of your crew's wait staff taking drink orders and delivering right to you at your chair.
Those looking for some adventure may rent snorkeling equipment for some underwater fun to check out the marine life. I personally prefer to float around on a raft or tube (also available to rent) so you will see me safely above the water!
Castaway Cay also offers
Port Adventures including Parasailing, Banana Boat Rides, Kayak Rental, and more! Some excursions will book up quickly so secure your activities when your booking window opens. You may also stop by the
Port Adventures desk to check on availability once onboard.
One of my favorite activities on Castaway Cay is bike riding.
Bike rentals are available by the hour, and one hour is just about the perfect amount of time to take a spin around the island. Follow the bike path for a tour of this tropical paradise. Stop at the Observation Tower for some amazing views of the island and a bird's eye view of your Disney Cruise Line ship.
No beach day is complete without food! Lunch is offered at Cookies BBQ complete with burgers, chicken, hot dogs, and the best potato salad. My favorite part of the meal is dessert with fabulous chocolate chip cookies and soft serve ice cream.
However you choose to spend your day, I hope your stay at Castaway Cay is full of magic and sunshine. Take time to explore the island, enjoy lunch, and get some fantastic photos with your Disney pals as they enjoy a day at the beach right with you! This day will likely be the highlight of your cruise vacation so hop off the ship early to soak in all the island has to offer. Bon Voyage!
