Are cast members at Epcot’s Food and Wine booths able to modify items? My specific question is if I’m REALLY EXCITED about the POG mimosa at shimmering sips, can my 14 year old order just the POG juice? Don’t want to get her hyped up for nothing. TIA :)

    Hiya, Carrie! Welcome to planDisney.

I get it! I have a pre-teen daughter who dreams of the Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade at the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. If she couldn't get that delicious, pretty, and oh-so-Instagram-able drink, she would be crushed. It's always a good idea to set expectations, and I hope I can help with some bites of advice today.

Luckily, there is no shortage of delicious treats at the Walt Disney World Resort! Like your kiddo, I am dreaming of a visit to the Shimmering Sips booth at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, because I have heard rave reviews of the plant-based Banana Bread with Mixed Berry Compote. Drool! Sadly, it's my understanding that the mimosas at this booth are pre-mixed, so I would not get your daughter's hopes up. I still think it's worth a visit to ask if they are available in non-alcoholic form - you never know! I have watched the Cast Members assemble many food and drink items at these booths, and I think it really depends on which aspects of the dish or drink are pre-made and how the items are assembled. If she's looking for a yummy non-alcoholic drink at the festival, maybe the Frozen Apple Pie from Appleseed Orchard in Canada would do the trick?

If it's POG juice your daughter is after, the good news is that you can find it at several locations throughout the Walt Disney World Resort. I had quite a few glasses a few weeks ago at Chef Mickey's for breakfast! My dear friend and fellow panelist Kristen N. shared her hot tips for finding POG juice around Walt Disney World in this answer; note, though, that this answer is from a few years ago so some menus may have changed. Kristen is the POG Juice Queen; this year when I was going through a hard time, she mailed me a box filled with pineapple and guava juices so I could drown my sorrows!

One last thing: I have to share my daughter's and my favorite EPCOT treat from our summer vacation. We popped into L'Artisan des Glaces in the France pavilion and ordered macaron ice cream sandwiches. These are to die for! So, so delicious!

Have so much fun snacking and sipping around the world with your daughter, Carrie! Your trusty food tasters here at planDisney are happy to help if you think of any more questions as you plan and dream.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
