Hey there, hi there, ho there, Jessica!
You’re as welcome as can be to planDisney! And you and your phone are both welcome when you visit the Disneyland Resort.
Yes, Cast Members currently are permitted to use the personal phones of Guests to take photographs. Please note that
health and safety measures at the Disneyland Resort are constantly being reevaluated and are subject to change. Also, individual Cast Members may choose to set their own boundaries and limits according to personal needs and situations. And of course, they will always respect the boundaries and limits indicated by Guests as well.
This past weekend, my wife and I attended a special
Artist Showcase event inside the
Off the Page store to meet one of our favorite independent Disney artists,
Dave Avanzino. I had met Dave several years ago. But this was the first time my wife met the talented artist who created many of the beautiful pieces that decorate our living room. For us, it was a moment to cherish. And one of the Cast Members supporting the event recognized that this was a special occasion for us. Without us even asking, she very kindly offered to use my phone to take a picture of us with Dave! I’m so grateful we have that photo to remember that experience.
Tony’s Tip: Jessica, you may already be aware that if you sign up for the
Disney Genie+ service, you are entitled to download any and all of your
Disney PhotoPass photos during your visit on each day you buy that service. That includes
attraction photos too. Soon, Guests may also begin to book “
Capture Your Moment” personalized photography sessions. The PhotoPass download entitlement from Genie+ may also be used to download the striking photos from those sessions.
Say, “
cheese,” Jessica!
