Hello Cast member! I was wondering, are cats still not allowed to stay at Disney World resort hotels? I already booked my stay at the Coronado in May. I wanted my cat to stay with me in the room, boarding is not an option for me. Thank you, Adri

    Hiya Adriana,

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for bringing your question to us. We are more than happy to help you prepare for your upcoming trip next month.

Just like Mickey and Pluto, I am a firm believer that pets are super essential family members. My family and I have been known to travel to Walt Disney World Resort with our beloved furry friend multiple times. We were thrilled when we discovered that Walt Disney World Resort was designating a select few of their Resort Collection Hotels as dog-friendly accommodations. I hope they extend this offer to other resorts hotels such as Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in the future. Unfortunately, feline friends are still not allowed to stay at any Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels. So you will be unable to have your cat stay with you in your resort room at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.

I know that boarding isn’t your preferred choice, but I’d love to recommend Best Friends Pet Care. When we visit Walt Disney World Resort, we often take our dog to spend the day at Best Friends Pet Care. We love that we can go and see him throughout the day, take him for walks, and he gets love and attention while we are spending hours in the Theme Parks. While we have never utilized them for overnight fun, I have heard fantastic things about their boarding services.

One of the other options is to look into staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Good Neighbor Hotel. Since we plan many last-minute trips, we often haven’t planned enough in advance to get a reservation at one of Walt Disney World’s dog-friendly accommodations, so we frequent Walt Disney World Resort’s Good Neighbor Hotels. They offer some of the same perks of staying on-site and have more pet-friendly accommodations that may suit you and your cat.

I’m sorry I couldn’t give you the answer you were looking for, Adri. If there is anything else I can do to help, please let us know.

    Happy Planning,
