Hiya, Gina!
How great it is to hEAR from you. I’m happy to help plan your visit to the Disneyland Resort.
I’m really sorry to hear about your injury. Our family too has experience with healing injuries during Disneyland Resort vacations. First, it is important to consult with your medical professional to obtain specific recommendations and restrictions for your activity level. Following their guidance will help you stay safe and on the path of recovery. Our son had a hand injury during one of our vacations a few years ago. He wore a sling to keep his limb stabilized, allowing him to participate in all of the same attractions as the rest of the family. Some of the more thrilling attractions did cause him discomfort during sudden accelerations. So knowing your own limits will be important.
You may also find that certain attractions are best experienced with normal usage of your hands. Some that come to mind include Autopia, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes, Frontierland Shootin' Exposition, Toy Story Midway Mania!, The VOID: Step Beyond Reality, and Splitsville Luxury Lanes – Bowling.
Although the built-in restraint mechanisms will keep you safe, you may still find that certain attractions with higher thrill levels will cause you to want to hold on tight. I recommend you consult with a friendly Cast Member outside any attractions you think might be a concern for you.
A wide range of gentler and non-ride
attractions,
entertainment, and
dining opportunities are also wonderful ways you will find enjoyment at the Disneyland Resort.
I wish you a speedy recovery and happy memories of your visit to Disneyland Resort!
