Can I use cash for souvenirs on the Disney cruise

Ahoy there, Sarah! Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by with your questions for us.

No vacation is complete without bringing home some souvenirs! Disney Cruise Line has unique merchandise, as well as items specific to the 2 private islands: Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. While you’re not able to use cash as payment inside these shops, you are welcome to use your Key to The World Card (your stateroom keycard) to charge the purchases. If you opt to pay for your folio in cash, you will receive notifications to visit Guest Services to settle the balance when your onboard account has reached $300 (this amount may be subject to change). On the last morning of your cruise, you will need to pay any remaining balance before disembarking the ship.

Sarah, I see you’re also interested in knowing whether you can pay for souvenirs with Disney gift cards and I’m happy to report that you absolutely can! So, if you’d rather not purchase souvenirs with your credit or debit card, or if you don’t want to carry too much cash onboard with you, you can bring along Disney gift cards for your retail purchases. My kids have brought Disney gift cards they’ve received from relatives to pay for their own souvenirs onboard Disney cruises.

I hope this information is helpful for you. Happy sailing, Sarah!

    Bon voyage,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes or Disney Cruise Line voyages with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
