Is cash accepted at Disney World? I was told it was strictly magic bands or credit cards

    Hi Kelly!

U.S. dollars are absolutely accepted at Walt Disney World!  Disney had a testing phase last year where only Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge went cashless, but the testing phase ended and cash became acceptable again.  You will find that cash is mostly accepted everywhere.  There are a handful of vendors who are MagicBand or card only like certain popcorn cards or bottled beverage stands.  If you run into a spot who doesn't accept cash, you can make charges to your MagicBand, if staying at a Disney Resort hotel, and then pay your balance off with cash at the front desk.  We do this often with Disney Gift Cards and hardly ever use a credit card while on vacation at Walt Disney World.

Disney Gift Cards can be purchased with cash and used at most locations throughout Walt Disney World as well.

Please stop back by if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
