Hi Jillian and welcome to planDisney!
Let me start off by saying that my family are massive fans of using Disney's complimentary
Resort Transportation. You have the option of using buses, water taxis, the monorail, or, our personal favourite, the
Disney Skyliner, to travel between the many Disney Resort hotels, Theme Parks, Water Parks and Disney Springs. Honestly, it couldn't be easier to use plus, it saves both time and money as well as the hassle of driving and parking - what's not to like?
Resort Transportation begins operating 45 minutes prior to Theme Park opening time and up to 1 hour after Theme Park closing time. Additionally, buses operate until 11:00 PM from the Disney Springs area.
Top Tip - It is possible to view routes and stop locations for various modes of transportation—including buses, monorails and water taxis on the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Just click on the "☰" in the bottom right-hand corner of the home page and scroll down to "Transportation & Parking" in the "Getting Around" section.
Going back to your question, Jillian, unfortunately, no luggage of any type is permitted on the
Walt Disney World Resort buses.
If you do need to travel around Walt Disney World with a carry-on sized piece of luggage, the
Minnie Van Service or, a ride-share service, such as Uber of Lyft, would be possible alternatives.
Did you also know that Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels can conveniently store their luggage at
Bell Services on both their check-in and check-out day? In addition to this,
Locker Rentals are available at each of the Theme Parks and Water Parks.
I do hope that this has answered your question and that you have the most brilliant time when you visit Walt Disney World, next year. If we can be of any further help with the planning of your trip, please feel free to re-visit us, here at planDisney.
Wishing you a magical holiday filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
Emma
