Hi Molly!
I'm so happy to hEAR you have a Disney cruise scheduled. It's definitely an amazing way to explore various destinations. And one of the best parts is only having to unpack once!
Like you, I have to know exactly how many luggage pieces I can cram full (which I always do). So I can totally relate to you wanting to know precisely how large a carry on you can use. According to the
Cruise Contract, Guests may check up to two bags per person, one carry on bag, and one personal item. Carry-on bags must be no larger than 22” x 14” x 9”. This rule is in place because they have to fit through an x-ray machine at the port security check.
Fortunately, there are
packing lists with suggestions based on the various Disney Cruise Line itineraries. My tendency is to be an overpacker, so it’s nice to know the suggested items needed based on the cruise destinations. An October voyage with your dates means you will be on a
Halloween on the High Seas sailing, so be sure to leave room for some Halloween costumes!
A few weeks prior to your cruise, you will receive a Guest Travel Booklet and
Luggage Tags. This always gets me even more excited about our upcoming sail. No need to do anything with the luggage tags until you arrive at the port; it's just nice to have them in hand before you board.
There's so much more than I can PACK in just one answer, so I hope you'll drop back by planDisney with any additional questions!
SEA ya real soon!
