Hi! I want to carry a small backpack in the parks and want to know if I can take it on the rides or if I will have to leave it somewhere....thanks!

    Hi Laura,

I've carried all kinds of bags, diaper bags, and small backpacks on our trips to WDW and taken them on the rides and attractions.  If your backpack is approximately the same size as a diaper bag, I think you'll have a similar experience.

There are attractions that actually have mesh bags to hold guests' belongs. Most of them, however, don't have a specific space, and you'll need to set your bag at your feet.  With the more intense rides, I often loop the bag's handle around my leg or arm just to be safe. Also make sure to double check that it is zipped up!

One attraction that I do need to note is Kali River Rapids at Disney's Animal Kingdom. While there is a storage area for bags that is meant to keep items dry, they still may get wet.  I have actually traveled with plastic bag that will hold my bag to use on this ride as well as during rain. You may also want to use this on Splash Mountain at the Magic Kingdom.

If you'd prefer to not have the backpack with you on the attractions, there are locker rentals available at each of the parks.

Thank you for your question. Please let us know if we can help again.
