Hi there, Nancy!
Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question! I like to keep my hands free during my trips to Disneyland Resort, so it is a good idea to make a plan for your belongings before you arrive in the theme parks.
Most of the high-thrill attractions have a little mesh pouch attached to your seat where you can place a couple of small items. Just don't forget to grab your stuff before you exit the ride! On slower rides, these items can usually be placed in your lap (as long as they do not interfere with the safety restraint belt) or on the floor.
I come prepared with a variety of hands-free options when I visit Disneyland! I wear leggings with side pockets that fit my phone and a small wallet. I also wear a belt bag (which I still call a fanny pack!) that can be easily removed and placed on the floor or worn on attractions without a safety restraint belt. However, when I am traveling with my kids, I have to bring a lot more stuff! I use a backpack and place it between my legs on most attractions.
Soarin' Around the World (which will be temporarily transformed into Soarin' Around California during your visit) is the main exception, where I put the backpack in a designated bag area while I fly across the world.
You are arriving at Disneyland amid one of my favorite events, the
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival! This is a great opportunity to check out local cuisine and special treats. I suggest reviewing the
Disney Parks Blog Foodie Guide and choosing which items you want to try before your trip. I like to purchase a
Sip and Savor Pass, which includes 4 or 8 digital coupons that you can redeem for select food and nonalcoholic beverages at participating Festival Marketplaces and dining locations.
Nancy, I hope you have an incredible trip to Disneyland Resort! Please contact us again if you have other questions!
Magic Happens!
