Hi Ramya! Welcome to planDisney.
After many, many visits to the Walt Disney World Resort, my family has our park bag strategy down to a science! A good friend just gave me the CUTEST Minnie Mouse mini backpack (complete with Minnie Ears!) and I've already figured out just how much it can carry for our next visit. So, my Disney planning geek heart loves this question of yours!
According to the
Walt Disney World Park Rules, suitcases, bags, coolers, or backpacks, with or without wheels, larger than 24" long by 15" wide by 18" high, are not allowed in the theme parks or water parks. There is also a Park Rule that "trailer-like objects" may not be pushed or pulled by a person, and I think this an important consideration about your wheeled backpack. Pulling a backpack behind you could create a tripping hazard for other Guests, especially in crowds. I have never seen someone pulling a suitcase or backpack inside any of the Walt Disney World theme parks, so I'm thinking you may bring your backpack if it's smaller than the dimensions noted in the Park Rules, but you must carry it on your back.
Ramya, there are
locker rentals available at the entrance of each of the theme parks, so if you need to store your backpack, that might be a good option. If you can, I would recommend bringing a non-wheeled lightweight backpack, which will be lighter and also easier to bring on and off attractions (where it must be stowed at your feet).
My fellow Panelists shared their packing tips in
this Panel Extra; I hope it gives you inspiration for packing your park bag. I always make sure we have water, sunscreen, sanitizing wipes, and Band-Aids, plus snacks, resealable bags for saving snacks, and a portable phone charger.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. If you think of anything else as you plan for your Walt Disney World Resort visit, please come back and see us!
Wishing you much magic,
