Going to the carribean for 7 nights. I was wondering if there is daycare at the small world nursery on port days. My husband and I really want to do the sting ray sand bar but my daughter will only be 16 months old and is not old enough.

    Ahoy, Amanda!

Thanks for stopping by the Moms Panel with your question.

I'm happy to hear you'll be taking advantage of the child care services at It's A Small World Nursery. The facility is an amazing interactive space for the littlest cruisers, staffed with highly-trained cast members that will take great care of your little princess.

The nursery will be open and available for you to schedule time for your child while you venture off the ship for a Port Adventure. My advice would be for you to drop her off about 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting time for your adventure. Make sure to let the nursery workers know that you'll be leaving the ship, and your expected time to arrive back. If your daughter will be in their care during meal time, you'll need to provide snacks and food for her. Fruit, cereal or dry snacks are great items to leave with your child, and can be picked up at Cabanas buffet. You can also order something from Room Service to drop off with her. Make sure not to include any nut products, as they are not allowed.

If you have any questions or concerns about leaving her in the nursery, I encourage you to speak with the nursery workers on your first afternoon onboard, during Open House. They'll be more than happy to answer any questions you have, and give you peace of mind about leaving her in their care. We had nothing but wonderful experiences with the nursery care when our daughter spent time there. She's almost twelve now, and ready for the tween club on our next cruise! Make sure to take lots of photos of your little one on your magical vacation - they will be treasures for years to come!

I hope this helps with your planning. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
