Do the carriage rides at Port Orleans Riverside typically book up in early November? If you get there early or late, will they accommodate you? I don't want to book a time that's too late for my 3 yr old, but I also don't want to rush her 4:30 at BBB in DD

    Kim:

Our family has found that the carriage rides tend to book up in advance and rarely are there standby rides available like what you'd find in New Orleans or Central Park in New York City. Our experience has been that reserved times are fairly punctual, and unlike a restaurant where there are plenty of seats, you'll find that only one or two carriages are in service. I definitely recommend making a reservation at 407-WDW-PLAY and sticking to your time so you don't get a no-show fee.

If you're up in the air on when to make your reservation, I would consider a later reservation over an earlier one that might push you. Give yourself 45 minutes for both the wait and the ride down the Sassagoula River from Downtown Disney to Port Orleans Riverside along with a good hour or so at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with time to make it over to the boat if that's your transportation to get there. A 7:00 or 8:00 p.m. reservation is reasonable. If you arrive early to Port Orleans: Riverside, there is much to see.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
