From Caribbean Resort, should I take the first bus from Martinque to get close to the front of the gates for opening, or should I take a Lyft to the Transit Center and take the monorail/boat from there? Lifelong Disneyland visitor, first time in Florida

Oh my goodness, Taylor! I'm so excited that you're visiting Walt Disney World Resort for the first time! I am giddy for you, as I fondly remember my first visit back in 1997. I was enamored with the 25th anniversary cake castle and all the characters and attractions, so I just know you're going to make tons of core memories on this trip! Your question about how to get from Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to the entrance of Magic Kingdom is an important one, and I've got an answer for you.

Disney Bus Service to the theme parks begins 45 minutes prior to opening, and ends an hour after closing. In my experience, the first bus comes just slightly earlier than this posted time. On my most recent visit I relied solely on bus transportation, and I did indeed rope drop Magic Kingdom. Early Entry on May 2nd begins at 8:30AM, which means the first bus should arrive around 7:45AM to your resort. I was staying at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, and the bus came just prior to this time. I was in one of the first groups to arrive at the park, but this may have been affected by the time of year and other factors that may vary when you visit in a few months.

The advantage to taking a bus is that you can skip the transfer to a ferry or the monorail at the Transportation and Ticket Center and get dropped off just outside of the security area at Magic Kingdom. I think the bus is the most efficient way to go!

Now, you can always plus up your travel and ride in style to the same area where buses drop off by choosing to take a Minnie Van from your resort to the park. Although this service is not complimentary, you can schedule it when it is convenient for you, skip the wait for a bus entirely, and get dropped off as close as possible to security. Decisions, decisions!

I'm sure you will have an amazing time no matter what form of transportation you choose! If you get on the first or second bus, or take a Minnie Van, or choose to take a ride share, ferry, or monorail combo, you will have arrived early enough to be part of the first few waves of guests who are rope dropping the park. All there will be left to do is choose which attraction you want to experience first! (It's Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for me).

I hope this information helps you plan your rope drop strategy for Magic Kingdom, Taylor! I have tons of other first timer tips to share, so just let me know if you need other suggestions to make your first visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth practically perfect in every way.

    Stay magical,
    Scott
