Hi Laura,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you so much for asking me a question! I’m thrilled to hear that you and your family will be visiting Walt Disney World Resort for March Break this year in order to escape this brutal Canadian winter...
Your idea to pack your hotel room’s fridge with snacks and breakfast essentials is a great start. It’s usually one of my number one tips for families visiting Walt Disney World Resort because it means that you aren't "eating out" for at least one meal each day. Don’t forget that you can also bring snacks and other food into the Theme Parks, too, so long as they aren’t in glass containers.
I’m usually pretty blown away by how much food some tweens and teens can pack away in a sitting. Even though all of the children in your party are considered adults because they’re over the age of 9, I would highly recommend booking at least one or two buffet or family style dining experiences. One of my absolute favourite ones is
Boma - Flavors of Africa at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. If you’re looking for “bang for your buck” that’s definitely the place.
Another great budgeting tip for dining is to share counter service (or even table service) meals between two people. Again, this may be a really great way for you to stretch your Disney dining dollars, especially if there are people in the group who have smaller appetites, because Disney portions are typically huge!
Finally, if you haven't already done so, don't forget to make your
Disney dining reservations ASAP! And please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
